PaardenKloof Wines
PaardenKloof Estate is a historical site where the Attacqua Khoi-Khoi tribe and the San tribes lived for thousands of years, hunting, gathering and herding their large horned Nguni cattle. A stud herd of horned Nguni cattle were re-introduced at PaardenKloof in 2004 in honour of the original Khoi-San inhabitants. In 2003 we planted twenty-four hectares of vineyards on the slopes of the Babylonstoren mountains where leopard, caracal and wild buck still roam.

Wines from this rare site are outstanding. Our unique terroir is characterised by ancient clay, Malmesbury shale, sandstone and Koffieklip soils. You will also taste our maritime pedigree in every bottle. Our vineyards border on the Babilonstoren Nature Reserve and grow in tough disease-free conditions which provide the reductive fruit flavours that are required to make wines of this quality. Flavours are influenced by the fynbos plants of the amazing Cape Floral Kingdom.
PaardenKloof specialises in handcrafted cool climate coastal wines which are 100% single varietal, single vineyard, BWI accredited, IPW accredited and conform to sustainable environmental and labour practices. Our premium vintage wines are bottled under the PaardenKloof range, whereas the Ecology range consists of our easy drinking lifestyle wines.
